Favorites Of 2021
That's a wrap on 2021. A few simple faves and standouts to look back on the year:
Favorite meals in the rotation-
Sausage+canned tomatoes with celery+shells and cheese is still the weekly crowd-pleaser, not fancy but hearty and filling; Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes; and more of the same faves Matt perfected during lockdown (oven burgers, breaded chicken, slow cooker pasta)
Favorite movie-
Hmmm.... another year without a theater visit, it's all streaming all the time these days.
Favorite TV shows-
Loki and Hacks for sure, plus Wandavision, Book of Boba Fett, Station Eleven, and more - it was a quality of quantity year for sure
CC's into all things YouTube - Cocomelon, Amber the Ambulance, and all kinds of songs
Favorite books-
CC's into The Art Book series, Biscuit, Pigeon books, and whatever I bring home from the library.
This was the first year since right after college I really didn't read. Between bad news in the world and more playtime with CC, non-work-related reading has been on the backburner for a while.
Favorite trip-
Pottsboro with the Sielings for sure
Favorite app-
Still Walmart grocery (lame+amazing), ha!
Pastime-
Lots of park trips and neighborhood walks, we were lucky some festivals and community events came back this year too
Best buy-
Our new house!
Projects-
Replaced the water heater and all the landscaping after the February freeze
Got the house ready to sell, packed, and move
Achievements/Firsts/Big Events-
Getting vaccinated for Covid
Getting through Snovid, boo!
Selling our 1925 house and moving to the new place was definitely the big one - supply chain issues, brick and labor shortages, and a major housing boom made it a complicated year
With both of us working in education, the ongoing pandemic has made work especially complicated - so just making it through seems like a lot on the professional front too.

For fun, I enjoyed getting active in Junior League again and Matt is still big into disc golf. This year CC turned 3 and we celebrated our 16th anniversary too. For more: 2021 Monthly Recaps
