:Symptoms:
I feel like my main pregnancy symptom is still the same - interrupted sleep. I've been constantly waking up for 1-3 hours every night to read or stare into space. It doesn't really bother me and is hopefully getting me ready for the late nights coming soon, not just making me tired.

I also had some swelling in my legs and ankles with the summer heat and getting used to being back at work. I started to wear compression socks at 32 weeks when school started again and haven't been able to wear my wedding ring either. Things got tougher at 35 weeks (heartburn) and again at 37 weeks, but I feel like I've had it fairly easy overall, especially for being in the "geriatric pregnancy" age range.

:Cravings/Aversions:
Nothing exciting, I'm still happy with just cereal or a sandwich most days plus lots of Topo Chico, morning protein shakes, and so much water. I have enjoyed expanding my dessert habits too as I work through the ice cream sandwich varieties available at Walmart (sea salt caramel for the win!).

:Activity:
For the summer part of the trimester - swimming and laying on the couch was about it. When school started going to work had to count as my daily exercise. I never realized how much I stand, lift, and walk, in my daily routine until I started carrying the basketball belly around the library at 30 weeks.

:Maternity Clothes:
I am wearing a lot of my regular work tops still and just adding a long tank underneath, and can also wear most of my school t-shirts too. I'm happy to not need a big maternity wardrobe but I will say I do look pretty ridiculous in a t-shirt and balloon belly. Still no sandals for me - I'm having to wear supportive shoes every day, but luckily slip-on sneakers are in style and OK at work.

:Looking Forward To:
Meeting the baby, of course, and skipping out on work for 15 weeks. 12 weeks FMLA + holiday breaks will make it my biggest break ever, plus Matt will be home with me starting in mid-December. He gets his usual long winter break and is going to take the 3rd quarter off, working a combo of online classes and intermittent FMLA until spring break. Hope we get to have some fun and aren't just in survival mode the whole time, can't wait!

:Around the House:
Not too much - especially after adding in all the gifts from our baby showers. There are still a few things on the home improvement list (paint/patch bathroom door especially) but those can wait until winter break.

:Favorite Part of the Trimester:
Feeling baby move like crazy - you can tell she's a real person in there now. It's also been neat having everyone at work ask questions and tell me how cute I am all day. I hadn't thought much about what it would be like working with 650 kids and a staff of baby-loving teachers while obviously pregnant, but the questions and comments have actually been so much fun.

We survived the first week of school!
