2018: July / Aug
July Adventures:
- Lots of lounging, daily swimming, and keep cool all summer for the last time as a party of two
- Finally finished some lingering house projects - got the buckle in the hallway floor repaired and the drywall cracks in the living room repaired, the pros were even cheaper than expected, yay!
- Fun with friends - 4th of July ribs and swimming with the Seilings + Motts, a Tech crew gumbo party at Mike + Cheri's, and Kirk's big "No Kids" pool party, attended a tea party with Lydia when she visited my parent's house, dinner out with Jennifer + Megan, Maggiano's with my parents, and a Ranger game for Matt
- Finished up the 2nd Trimester of growing Baby Hams and started on the 3rd and final round and took our online hospital classes (birth, baby care, and breastfeeding) and completed the stations and tour at the hospital, guess we're ready?
- We also were home to witness a crazy car accident that left a car in our front yard. Luckily Matt and Kayti were able to go out and help the driver right away. We've seen this exact type of accident (one way street + drivers that don't realize they're on a one way and you can't turn left from the right lane) 3 times now, first time a car when off the road though.
- Back to work for me right on August 1st to prep for the start of school, this was a month I'd been dreading with pregnancy + busiest month of work but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. The first week of school brought on swollen ankles and bedtime by 8, but that's always a hard week and I'm surprised how quickly I've gotten in the swing of things. Plus, all my coworkers tell me how great I look all day and the kids ask sweet questions and even were cheering when they found out about the baby. So cute!
- Back to work for Matt with a new 8 week college schedule this year. He's had a stressful start with program coordinator/scheduling duties, but is otherwise happy to be back doing his thing.
- Had lots of fun with friends at Shannon's fun 40th Dallas birthday night, Matt's big draft weekend at Kirk's, and a ladies draft dinner at Harvest.
- Celebrated baby Hams with a friends & family baby shower - so fun! Maggie + Lydia came up the night before and stayed with which was a nice treat too. They even stopped by my school for a tour.
We made it through the first week of school!
