Six Months at the Cedar House

Somehow we've lived in our new house for six months already! Time flies. We've done a few small projects (upgrades and getting settled) and some bigger projects (yard work for an acre - eek!). Mostly we've been unpacking, enjoying the slower pace of country life, and have been utilizing our newfound insulation and storage, ha!

Things we've (Matt's) done so far...

Indoors-

  • Updated kitchen and dining room light fixtures
  • Installed fans in 4 bedrooms and replaced the fans in the living room and master
  • Bought a new chair for the living room
  • Bought/installed a new TV and sound system above the fireplace (Matt's lifelong dream come true, LOL)
  • Upgraded our master bedroom furniture and mattress
  • Bought new art for the living room (also my belated 40th birthday gift)

Outdoors-

  • Bought and assembly an outdoor playground
  • Added a fan to the back patio
  • Organized garage with a new cabinet, workbench, bike rack, and outdoor toy sorter
  • Removed front bed landscaping and replaced it with new plants, pots, river rocks, and black mulch
  • Had Tree Land plant 15 trees: a Brandywine Maple, Red Oak, and Bald Cypress in the back yard and 12 Eastern Red Cedars as a living fence on the south side
  • Had Barefoot Landscaping grade and install sod in the back and side yard
  • Replaced the front sconces with modern fixtures and installed landscape lighting
  • Bought a riding lawn mower
  • Spent the spring and summer watering like crazy...

So much fun! Some snaps...
