Cedar House Build ~ Dirt to Pre-Drywall (February - June)

As far as house building goes all we've done is write a check and make our design selections, but our builder is nice about acting like we are part of the process, ha!

We've had fun this spring visiting the site every few weeks to see the changes. Riverside sends us weekly updates via their My Homestory site, so even if we couldn't visit often we can see what's happening with Our Home Story.

February-March: Groundwork stuff/foundation prep
April 2: Water lines in
April 20: Foundation completed
May 1: Framing started
May 9: Framing finished, windows installed, plumbing in
May 27: Ductwork in, roof finished
June 1: Insulation in
June 4: Pre-drywall meeting with the builder

Some photos...

And then.... the house stayed like this for 10 weeks.

Due to Covid/Texas-freeze/demand/etc. there is a big labor and supply chain shortage and construction is delayed all over. So far we've had closing dates of August 5th, September 27th, and now October 27th. A big issue is we don't have any bricks, so even if the inside gets finished soon, we may still be waiting on that. We haven't sold our 1925 house yet so we can just keep waiting luckily. When will it be? :)
