2020 by the Month // September & October (& Coronavirus)

September Adventures-
  • We resumed face-to-face school for the first time since March on the same day I turned 40 - that definitely made it a memorable birthday.
  • Lots of busy weeks and quiet weekends social distancing since we're around a lot of people with work. Matt has solidified a new habit of playing disc golf on Sunday mornings while CC and I head to explore a new park. I also met up with Megan and Jennifer for a tiny socially distant pool party to celebrate 40.
  • I also wrapped up my 3rd and final term on the city's Library Advisory Board bring that 6-year chapter to a close (and complete with a cool blanket as a thank you from the city). I was privileged to be able to help out and enjoyed watching the Eldorado library expansion take place during my terms. I'm excited to ramp up Junior League again and go from a sustainer back to active status in 2021, since working and parenting only really leaves time for one extra volunteer event these days.

October Adventures-
  • CC's birthday festivities were the highlight of the month - 24-month updatePark Party, 2nd Birthday Interview, we were lucky to be able to have a quick visit with Maggie and Lydia too
  • Participated in a marathon in a month for a work challenge and ended up getting in 55 miles of neighborhood walks in the evenings together
  • Celebrated Halloween with a neighborhood walk and trick or treating fun at daycare for CC
  • Another elbow issue for little miss, it was a bummer seeing her hurt at daycare but she has mended up nicely already. It was also a bummer with all the election/pandemic stuff going on all fall but looks like there is hope on that front now too, yay!
