2020 by the Month // March & April (& Social Distancing for Coronavirus)

March Adventures-
  • Spent spring break relaxing and working on house projects while CC went to daycare, plus visits with the grandparents & Lydia, a park playdate with the McCords, and watching soccer games for Heike and Truitt. Matt and I had a lunch date one day at Abuelo's too - will that be our last meal out for 2020? It was totally delicious at least, ha! By Friday though Cororavirus was coming so we stocked up on groceries/toilet paper on our last in-store trip.
  • Covid-19/Conoravirus ramped up worldwide, leaving us with a 2nd week of "shelter in place" spring break, followed by a plan to learn at home for March/April for public schools and colleges
  • Lots of online shopping, lots of setup work for teacher support for me (March was busy, then things became manageable), Matt's classes transitioned to online, which he is familiar with so that was a smooth transition at least, and lots of uncertainty, walking the neighborhood and indoor entertaining CC

April Adventures-
  • More of the same with shelter-in-place for our city/county/state - we are working during naps and at night, doing online shopping/curbside pickup when necessary, and zoom/conference call meetings (and happy hours) are now a thing too, We are trying to do full-time childcare while also working and it's not the most productive combo - you can't really leave a 1-year-old to watch a movie while you answer emails - but we are having fun together and CC has no worries or questions about anything being different
  • Lots of walking around McKinney, including our own tour of the Historic Home Calendar houses, making new friends with Edith and the animals at the Logan St backyard farm, being the only people out when walking around downtown, and finding new parks, trails, and houses to look at twice a day to pass the time
  • Matt had his 3rd online interview with a new school and it was all over video conference, not the same as it person but he did get the job, so yay!
  • CC turned 18-months-old and had a mask-wearing Dr visit for shots - also her/my first time leaving the house not on a walk, and the only non-grocery interaction for our house since early March
