Q3 2016

Adventures in Quarter 3

July
-Wrapped up summer with pool time and TV (Black Mirror, Bloodlines, Stranger Things, and other randomness)
-Took a quick trip to Austin for a book review committee meeting and a few panel discussions, book nerd fun!
-Enjoyed our big summer road trip to Colorado + hitting out 60th national park site together

August
-Back to work we go - started year 3 at my "new" school and year 4 for Matt as a full-timer
-Hosted a visit from the Abbott crew/cousin swim party, cute Lydia brings the crowds out and it was great to see everyone
-The "Trump house" next door ramped up, I'll post the whole story when the election season comes to an end

September
-Fun in Waco for my Magnolia/Mammoth Birthday
-McKinney Oktoberfest - 3 visits in 2 days with various friends and one of our favorite downtown events, Sunday was rained out or we would have been back
-Lots and lots of reading - for fun and book reviewing, my short room library is maxed out with 3 months to go. #firstworldpains
Plus lots of fun with friends at Kirk+Megan's new house, football with the Motts, and grilling/swimming/disc golf/fantasy football/etc.

House Updates
-Nothing-woo hoo! Just some general yard and pool maintenance for the summer and lots of time in the den enjoying summer vacation (updated interior photos).

Waco Birthday

Magnolia & mammoths for 36! We celebrated my birthday/Labor Day this month with a fun daytrip to Waco.
For this quick getaway, we visited Fixer Upper's Magnolia Market, did some shopping downtown at the Spice Village, toured the Waco Mammoth National Monument, and enjoyed lunch overlooking the Brazos on the patio at Manny's on the River. We left early enough to get to Waco in time to beat traffic and get back to town in time to take a nap, shop in downtown McKinney, and enjoy a movie at home. Yay!
I also got to celebrate earlier with my parents - shoe shopping, dinner at Love & War in Texas, and some fancy desserts from the new Asian bakery 85C.
Lucky me, another fun birthday!
