Big Apple Weekend

I had a great unexpected vacation this year. New York City was not on my list of places to visit soon, but when my sister's friend Jordan planned her bachelorette party in NYC (she's studying nearby at Yale, smarty pants) Maggie invited me to tag along for a sister getaway.
New York Highlights...
- Walking through Central Park for brunch at The Met
- Riding the Subway - and being treated to a talented breakdance show underground
9/11 Memorial and St. Paul's Chapel at Ground Zero
- Walking Wall Street, viewing Federal Hall, the bull, Battery Park, and Trinity Church at the south end of town
- Lots of walks and people watching around Times Square and the theatre district from our base at the Milford Hotel
- Eating in Hell's Kitchen: Italian, brunch, bagel's - yum
- Watching Once, a musical set in in a Irish pub, on Broadway at a beautiful small theater
- Fun harbour cruise around the island
Rockerfeller Center and shopping on 5th Avenue - plus attending a beautiful Evensong boys choir service at Saint Thomas Church
- Dinner and delicious NY cheesecake at Junior's
- Browsing Bryant Park and the New York Public Library
- Feeling like a "real" New Yorker with a Shake Shack hot dog for lunch in artsy Madison Square Park
- Walking the Fashion District, Herald's Square, and Flatiron Area (busy, busy) before heading home
Freedom Tower :: 9/11 Memorial
:: Cruising (pretty sure we were the only Americans on the boat) ::
Trinity Church :: Rockefeller Plaza
Empire State Building :: Broadway!
Federal Hall :: Times Square
We had a great time and were definitely impressed. I'm usually more of an outdoor girl but NYC was better than I expected - clean, easy to navigate, and full of fun food and art. Great idea Mags - fun times! Where should we go next? ;)
