Waco+Meridian Spring Break

Everybody loves spring break! This year, for the first time, Matt and I didn't have the same spring break so we couldn't do a big trip like last year, but we still had plenty of fun. Between sleeping late, eating out, and piddling around the house, we were able to fit in a great little getaway last weekend.

On Friday, we visited Maggie and Jimmy in Waco and hit up Barnett's Pub, Vitek's BBQ for the infamous Gut Pack, and relaxed on their cute patio (chimenea+ladder golf+dogs).
On Saturday morning, we messed around Waco (breakfast, antiquing, performance fleece shopping) before heading out to Meridian, the teeny tiny town where we visited the Red Caboose Winery on my last birthday. We enjoyed a surprisingly gourmet lunch at the Cactus Grill on the square, then set up at Meridian State Park for hiking, hot dogs, and campfire fun.

Everything was amazingly green, the weather was perfect, and the bluebonnets were in full bloom - completely beautiful and just right for a great little break. Life is good.
